Konami executive Kazumi Kitaue, head of Konami North America and European ops, dropped a bombshell today saying that Metal Gear Solid 4 may move to other consoles in an attempt to recoup development costs.

Normally I'm not the kind of guy to say "I told you so".. but, uh.. yeah. :P

Metal Gear Solid isn't one of the games I was looking forward to, so it doesn't really matter. I want some Two Worlds and Mass Effect.

Same as Lumpy. I've never played any of the Metal Gear Solid games. Though I'm having some heavy pressure laid down on me by friends to pick up the ones that were on the PS2. So If I enjoy it, hopefully it will come to the 360. I'll play it eventually when my brother buys a PS3...

I liked MGS1 and MGS2.

The music of MGS1 meshed so well with the gameplay and could really get the adrenaline flowing, especially the encounter music. MGS2 was also great, but I just couldn't get into MGS3 for some reason.

I'm still sad I had to kill Sniper Wolf in MGS1. There's something amazingly hot about a russian chick who doesn't mind showing bewbs in weather so cold you need a thermal suit.

The only exposure I have to this game franchise is watching my college roommate play through a few of them on his PS2. I didn't just sit there for hours watching him, so I'm pretty much oblivious to the storyline. But if I was in the room and not busy I'd watch a little. I liked the boss battles, but my roommate was a tad obsessive about the games and took forever to do things because he wanted to be perfect. I might pick up the game on another system if I ever played any of the older ones.

So, in spin control mode, Sony directly refutes the Konami America/Europe head and continues to say MGS4 is PS3 exclusive?

Hmm. I'm afraid that press release or not, I have more trust in the Konami officer than I do in Sony. This just reeks of corporate spin to control potential damage caused by the Konami exec for talking about potential cross platform sales.

It's just a matter of time before it comes to the 360... the two snakes made it to the game cube. 360 owners will see a version of MSG 4 at some point. Count on it.

The Twin Snakes Edition on GameCube and the Windows version.

I see it happening, but I also see it taking a Diablo 2-style disc system.... a play disc and a few cutscene ones.

I wish it was true.

A year and a month old, and I'm glad MGS4 stayed exclusive. If MGS4 goes to 360, We should get Halo 3.

Haha well since 360 got Grand Theft Auto (with features that PS3 dont even get) as well Final Fantasy XIII on top of that, I think its not too much to ask for Fable II as well as Halo 3.

Edit: and yes, I obviously know that none of this makes any sense from a business viewpoint (Or maybe it does? idk).
