darkwonders 10-09-2008, 11:13 AM Wow Lono. Bashing LBP enough?
1) Getting items are incentive to actually play the game... It also allows you to see how the developers used these items in their levels, so you have something to go by
2) The levels you need to play before you get to build stuff are the tutorials needed in order to use the items. If you didn't have those, you wouldn't be able to design anything that nifty
And i already forgot what else you talked about it...
What was my level called? The only completed one I put up was my Donkey Kong level. And I know that was finished before it was put up... There was a blank level that I saved, but I never uploaded that. So i don't know how you were able to access that one...
Ventilaator 10-09-2008, 11:17 AM What the hell was up with Doc?
From the first second his voice sounded kind of... beaten up...
He said he'd rather not discuss it, so what else could I say in this post... :undecided:
Lono, thank you for opening my eyes. I've been hyping LBP too much, and the bad things you listed made a clicking sound in my brain and I realized that things like that could be actually wrong in the game. I will still get it, and I still think it has a huge chance for GOTY. I am just realizing that it's not perfect.
I'd like to hear what rothbart thinks of Lono's rant BTW, that's like telling Nathanhale on the forums that Resistance 2 is bad.
Blackswordsman 10-09-2008, 12:02 PM Yeah LBP has flaws, hopefully most can be fixed in the future. Though I disagree with Lono about there not being any good levels, I have played some very good ones. Just click on the cool levels tab.
darkwonders 10-09-2008, 12:29 PM Wow. I just played 3 of the sweetest levels ever...
search for author geosautus. His levels are awesome.
Oh and search for the Heist pat 1 and part 2. those are sweet too
Lono_Lives 10-09-2008, 12:45 PM Sorry to burst everybody's LBP bubble...
Blackswordsman 10-09-2008, 01:17 PM Sorry to burst everybody's LBP bubble...
Heh, you're not really sorry are you.
DogsDieInHotCars 10-09-2008, 01:41 PM wow....Surpised LBP was so bashed....hopefully they'll fix those issues. It's still on my buy list
Blood 10-09-2008, 01:42 PM WOW Lono
Blackswordsman 10-09-2008, 01:57 PM I dont see why everyone is so suprised, having played it,I think most of his complaints were justified. The controls are a little iffy and the online was a complete lagfest. Still these are things that can be fixed.

The hype for this game is so crazy... I'm just trying to temper everybody's expectations.
ShortHairedOffender 10-09-2008, 02:03 PM I want to hurt Lono. To get all the shit for making levels you need to do the tutorials in the level editors.
Infneon 10-09-2008, 02:08 PM All I can say is.... Bravo Lono for calling it like you see it.
And as for Doc, sounded bowel releated
strika234 10-09-2008, 02:15 PM I appreciate someone saying something thats not all good about LBP.
Its like littlebigjesus...
Lono_Lives 10-09-2008, 03:12 PM I want to hurt Lono. To get all the shit for making levels you need to do the tutorials in the level editors.
I played the four levels... I just didn't have what I wanted to make the level that I wanted to make... And, honestly, I wasn't that keen on making one anyway.
Jarrett 10-09-2008, 03:15 PM Thanks for being honest, Lono.
I hate it when people swoon over a hyped game, when in reality, they hate it...
Get better, Doc (From whatever it was).
ShortHairedOffender 10-09-2008, 03:18 PM I played the four levels... I just didn't have what I wanted to make the level that I wanted to make... And, honestly, I wasn't that keen on making one anyway.
My levels are awesome. I made a Mirrors Edge Level.....
Blackswordsman 10-09-2008, 03:39 PM The hype for this game is so crazy... I'm just trying to temper everybody's expectations.
Yeah, the hype machine is in full swing and it is best to be honest now rather than later.
bluec1988 10-09-2008, 04:53 PM Lono was right this is spreaded through the xbox forums i spent 30 minutes with xbox support with the same problem with live my box froze in the middle of the war world demo after restarted it because my controller went out of sync beause it fell i played the mega man 9 demo also but i think its the new download demos in geenreal since the come inpacks like pes demo was release the same day as the others. so your not the only 1 in the live conspiracy
choco 10-09-2008, 05:03 PM What the hell was up with Doc?
From the first second his voice sounded kind of... beaten up...
He said he'd rather not discuss it, so what else could I say in this post... :undecided:ya he sounded sick as soon as he started talking a heard it.
Gir15 10-09-2008, 07:16 PM That's for the slight review of LBP, Lono. And Get Well Doc, whatever you're sick with but coming from the hospital sounds serious.
Godmoney 10-10-2008, 06:25 AM I played the four levels... I just didn't have what I wanted to make the level that I wanted to make... And, honestly, I wasn't that keen on making one anyway.
It's just the beta dude... wait for the full game...
I'm sure you would have more stuff in the retail version.
NuclearNinja1429 10-10-2008, 02:26 PM So Doc when are you gonna give a full length review of Dead Space?
Lono_Lives 10-10-2008, 02:31 PM It's just the beta dude... wait for the full game...
I'm sure you would have more stuff in the retail version.
Well, we all know how different Beta's are from the real game... I mean in the Call of Duty 4 Beta you could fly planes, but they took that out of the full game...
Godmoney 10-10-2008, 02:50 PM LBP is nothing like Call of Duty.
There are tons of things that are not available in the beta but will be in the retail version.
It's just a matter of opinion I guess...
I got into the beta two days ago and I'm having tons of fun.
Creating levels is way better than I first thought and playing levels (well... the good ones) others made is also fun - specially Co-Op.
I do think that the way you control the Sackboy is far from perfect...
I hate they way he jumps and I don't understand why they had to do three planes...
Lono_Lives 10-10-2008, 03:20 PM My point is that Betas aren't much different than the retail versions. Maybe I'll be wrong.
Jarrett 10-10-2008, 03:23 PM My point is that Betas aren't much different than the retail versions. Maybe I'll be wrong.
I sure hope so!
Godmoney 10-10-2008, 03:30 PM I agree - the beta is very close to how the final game will play, that's why I said I do have problems with how you control your Sackboy.
I've read that Mark Healey, Media Molecule boss is not that happy with the controls himself...
"The Z [axis] movement is an incredibly hard thing for us to get right. There's times when it annoys me actually".
I don't think they will be able to solve it by the game comes out, but a future patch is a possibility...
What I'm saying is that you will have a lot more items available for levels creation.
Aydin 10-10-2008, 09:05 PM Anyone else think it will be fantastic if when Lono gets Dead Space he gets so scared he can't sleep at night?
Oh the irony
minefield 10-11-2008, 06:16 AM I ran into the Mega Man 9 cluster**** twice before I figured out that it was that particular game that was crashing my machine.
The first time I had no idea what caused it. I had just finished downloading MM9 when it first went down. Then everytime time I logged onto Live, my machine crashed. So I called the helpline and sorted that all out. I then proceeded to re-download MM9 again....(cos hey, I'm digging that retro vibe strangely enough) and as soon as it finished downloading, yep, the machine froze up again. It's definately 100% Mega Man 9 that's causing the problem. Pity.
