until tonight, i thought that it was only a duel game, but i found out it's a 4 player minigame! had i known that, the days where i had the 1v1 tournaments would have been MUCH more interesting!

Absolutely! That is the only way to simulate any fun at all while playing that game (Mario Party that is. Not the other "game").
